Which drones to buy for children?

Drones have become a popular gift for kids, and for good reason. Children are especially receptive to technological news these days, which is very gratifying! It’s great that young people follow technological news from an early age, they don’t want to fall behind them, it’s our future.

Drones can provide endless hours of fun while developing a variety of skills and knowledge. However, not every drone is suitable for young users. Before introducing your child to the world of drones, take some time to consider the different types of drones.

Safety is important

When flying a drone, safety is very important, so we have identified essential criteria that you should pay attention to when choosing a drone with a camera for a child:

  • Drone size – Especially for a young person, choosing a slightly smaller and lighter drone is important for several reasons: the drone is easier to control, more maneuverable, and would cause less damage in the event of an accident. Also for drones up to 250 g. no exams required!
  • Propeller protection is an excellent means of protection. A propeller guard covers the outside of the propellers so that when flying into an obstacle, the protruding plastic meets the obstacle and the propellers are not damaged – causing the drone to simply bounce off the obstacle instead of falling down.
  • Obstacle detection sensors – these sensors are a real miracle! Some drones have obstacle detection sensors. What does this mean? When flying into an obstacle (for example, a wall or a person), the sensors detect the object and the drone simply stops and prevents it from flying further, so that a collision does not occur. It should be noted that the sensors are not always in all directions, usually: front, bottom, back. Below we will present which drones have these sensors.
  • Automatic return home is a great lifesaver if you lose connection. When the connection between the remote control and the drone is lost, the drone automatically returns to the take-off location. This is a great feature if you don’t want to lose your drone on your first flight.
