Unmanned reconnaissance aircraft OA-2 “Spartan”

Item code: N/A

Product Information: OA-2 “Spartan” unmanned fixed wing aircraft was developed for long endurance mobile infantry reconnaissance missions. The aircraft system can be packed in two standard military backpacks, and carried by two operators. The assembly and launching under normal conditions takes no more than 10 min. To increase the mobility of system aircraft has been designed for “hand launch” (due to high lift wing profile implementation). Landing of the aircraft can be performed either by parachute (in case of low wind and limited landing area) or by automated “belly landing” in predetermined area (in case of sufficient area available and/or strong wind). The system ensures extremely low noise due to implementation of low speed electric motors. It has been designed to obtain maximal flight endurance with minimal noise. The “power pack” of the aircraft consists of custom LiPo batteries ensuring up to 4 h flight endurance (depending on conditions). The payload of the system is easily detachable and rechargeable, positioned in the front of the aircraft which does not obscure the cameras view. It can be arranged from multiple cameras and sensors arrays, with the normal payload mass of up to 2 kg. Normal payload configuration includes: -        2-axis articulated gimbal with array of cameras: o       20x optical zoom HD optical camera; o        LWIR uncooled 640x480 thermal camera; -        Various fixed optical and NIR ortophoto imaging cameras (24-42 MPix resolution). Telemetry transmission of the system operates at 868 MHz (128 bit AES encoding can be purchased as an option). That ensures (with standard antennas) communication at no less than 50 km distance in most of the conditions (line of sight). In case of purely preprogramed flight (without communication with aircraft), the flight distance is limited only by the flight time. There is a possibility of installing GPRS or SatCom based flight control system for extension of controlled flight range. Video transmission is provided via digital 2,4 GHz link (with 256 bit AES encoding), and ensures stabile transmission (with supplied antennas) over 10 km distance. Maximal flight altitude is up to 5000 m, though normally the flights are being performed at altitudes of no more than 1000 m. “Follow-me” mode can also be implemented, when aircraft is following the moving ground station (circling around the moving car with the ground station).
